The performance of the RRR song by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava garners a standing ovation. In 2023, 'Naatu Naatu' becomes the first-ever song from an Indian production to receive an Oscar nomination.


India secures its second Oscar of the night with the 'Naatu Naatu' song from RRR winning the Best Original Song award at the 95th Academy Awards, after winning the Documentary Short Film category. The award was received by music composer MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandrabose, with the movie helmed by SS Rajamouli and featuring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR

The colorful performance of 'Naatu Naatu' at the Oscars, featuring costumes and the iconic hook step originally performed by Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the movie, left the audience enthralled.

Before winning the coveted award, 'Naatu Naatu' was performed at the Oscars with dancers by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The introduction of the song was done by Deepika Padukone, who was present at the event as a presenter of Oscar 2023.

RRR is a story that portrays the lives of two Indian revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Set in the 1920s, the film depicts the journey of Ram and Bheem, their friendship, and their travels away from home.

Competing against renowned artists such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Diane Warren, 'Naatu Naatu' makes history by becoming the first song from an Indian movie to win this prestigious award.
